Pip Utton - King Lear
Pip Utton (England)
About
Pip Utton returns to Prague Fringe with the world premiere of his play King Lear, co-written by William Shakespeare.
King Lear is one of Shakespeare’s most difficult plays, and the part of Lear one of the
hardest to pull off. Fringe legend and favourite, Pip Utton, believes he is now old enough and more importantly, mad enough to take it on. But also, young enough to survive the challenge. So he has reworked the play as a solo performance that includes most of Shakespeare’s words but not necessarily in the same order. Pip must be crazy, but that’s what they said when he decided to play Margaret Thatcher!
For the past twenty-eight years Pip has toured the world performing his many
monodramas to great acclaim in more than thirty countries. He has won countless
awards for his writing and performances (Adolf, Chaplin, Dickens, Bacon, Einstein and
many more)
